Dear all,
We would like to get started with the preparations for the Barcamp Session at our first NFDI BioMed Meeting on Nov 26/27 in Heidelberg.
For this workshop, the Barcamp Sessions will specifically focus on the use cases that were identified within our respective domains and which would likely profit from a better coordination between our NFDI consortia. This could simply be due to higher efficiency in (re-)using harmonized data schemas, PIDs, APIs, infrastructure, contracts, consent forms or teaching material, but also because such harmonization would allow us to interconnect the data sets between our domains.
The goal is to identify 2-3 use cases that can garner sufficient interest among our consortia so that they can be worked on by e.g. a joint task force in 2025 and thereby provide a more permanent platform for exchange.
Barcamps profit a lot from the dynamic organization during the event, which ensures that there is a good match between the topics discussed and the general interest among the participants. (For those of you who have **never** attended a Barcamp before, please watch the following video, which will give you all the key information in just 100 seconds).
However, to ensure that the sessions can run efficiently and do not suffer from a lack of detail knowledge or preparation, we would ask all consortia for two things:
- Please enter potential Use Cases into this document (copy a template if you have to) until Oct 20.
This will allow everyone to ask for clarifications before the meeting and it will help you to get an idea about the level of interest for a given use case. If you would like to propose a use case but would rather not like to present it as a session proposal during the meeting, please mark it accordingly in the document. Please note that while new use cases can still be proposed ad hoc during the meeting, priority will in general be given to those which were circulated before. - Please ensure that there is at least one participant from your consortium at the meeting who knows all the necessary details of the use case and is willing to act as a "Use Case Owner" during a session.
Please let us know if you have any questions!
Best,
Christian, Christian & Jan
